Hot Glass Audio has an impressive
stock of components, some new, and some highly sought after vintage
and NOS components. No two pieces of equipment respond the same
to changes in different makes and models of components. Capacitors
for instance, can radically alter the way an amplifier will sound,
as can resistors, tubes, or transformers. Using newer plastic
dielectric film capacitors (ex. polypropylene) in vintage equipment
will alter the original sound characteristics, as most were designed
around the limitations of Mylar or paper. While a plastic dielectric
capacitor may sound great in a newer design, it could sound "bright"
or "harsh" in a vintage design. It is for this reason
that Hot Glass Audio stocks most makes and models of capacitors
and other electronic components. No matter what the design, Hot
Glass Audio will have a component to suit your needs.
At Hot Glass Audio,
the customer makes the ultimate choice of which components will
go into their equipment. We will work with the customer to find
the preferences and make recommendations. We believe component
selection and matching is an integral part of the restoration
process. No two people have identical hearing, and by using different
types of components, Hot Glass Audio can tailor sound to a certain
degree to meet an individual's tastes.
Please take a look at our parts page for an idea of some of the
components we recommend and provide in our restoration, repair,
and mod service. Also check back to our site frequently as updates
and additional pages are being added.
We look forward to hearing from you.
